I just found out about this from my friend Kevin, and got really excited to enter. I'm really new to blogging, it's late and I've been trying to get this posted for the last hour. LOL.. I've never done this before, so I've been bouncing around the blog world trying to figure out what a "permalink" and a "backlink" are. Hopefully, I got it! So please check out the Blogger's
Quilt Festival courtesy of Amy's
Creative Side. My quilt "All My Rowdy Friends" is my first wholecloth. Each round is dedicated to a different friend. Please go to my last post to see all my pictures. Check out all the great quilts and vote for your favorite!
Happy Quilting!

IMQA - MQS Wichita, KS
This was the best year ever at MQS. My wonderful husband, Bob, was my roommate. He spent the week exploring Wichita, while I took classes and enjoyed the show. OK, so sit down, here's my big news........ my quilt "All My Rowdy Friends" took 2nd (SECOND) Place in the Tools of the Trade category. I challenged myself to design and make my first wholecloth, to use every ruler I possibly could AND to create each round dedicated to a quilting friend. Some of you have already claimed a round, yes Kevin, the center is yours....a couple of you have to fight over the feathers... My original markings were only the main squares and circles. Most of the designing was done after the quilt was loaded. So after countless hours (didn't track) of design and contemplation, and 250 hours of quilting, countless bags of Hershey Kisses, and one entire day of binding the day before shipping to MQS...... I present to you ....
"ALL MY ROWDY FRIENDS"
Yes, I know, it has a few wrinkles, but you would to if you were stuffed in a box and shipped!
Here are some close ups of the heart sections:
You better believe it! That is 1/8" cross hatching... No wonder I had to get new contacts. Here's a pic before the feathers were added..
And 6 of the 8 feather sections, apparently I forgot to take pics of 2, so I will when I get the quilt back
And every quilt needs a center:
A little closer...
How does it look on the bed, you may ask? Well this is probably the only time it will every be on a bed. LOL Otherwise the dogs and cats might claim it!
Almost forgot, here's a close up of a corner detail:
The quilt is not finished here, but I wanted to show you the green flame shaped thing. This is from before the quilting was complete.
Well I hope you enjoyed seeing the pictures of my quilt "All My Rowdy Friends". I really enjoyed designing and quilting it. If you happen to be in the area in June, this quilt will be at the show in Columbus, Ohio. My next quilt is a Double Wedding Ring pieced by my friend Kevin the Quilter. Check back in to see how the quilting is going.
Happy Quilting!

Hello World!
First, let me introduce myself. Ann. I am a LongArm Quilter. That being said, I'm not sure what anyone would want to know. I come from a long line of quilters. My Great-Grandma, Lizzie queen of scraps, because being poor, she had mostly scraps to make her quilts. I have 3 binders full of her patterns, mostly cut from newspapers. My Grandma, Barbara, the most amazing appliquer I've ever known, also my role model and mentor whom I miss dearly. My mother, Betty, piecer and embroiderer. I learned to hand-quilt at Grandma's church and so my love of quilting began. Eventually about 8 years ago I bought my first longarm and about 4 years ago upgraded to BeBe, my Gammill. I do some quilting for others, (special few) but what I love most is quilting my stuff! My Goal? To be a featured quilter somewhere other than my living room! LOL!
I belong to ShowMe LongArm Quilt Guild, an amazing group (about 60) of quilters. We recently completed our 2013 challenge. So here's my entry....

And the back....
This was a fun quilt to do. There were 16 quilts finished for this challenge. If you get to MQS in Wichita May 14-18, please look for our Special Exhibit.
Happy Quilting
